CCXCV ~> Doomsday Misgivings*

(1)
Might prove mere fragments of your reverie
That bloom malignant with defiant scorn
Waxing indignant, taxing memory
Of wasted chances to set your mind free:
Denying grooms your doomsday misgiving!
(2)
Wasted chances, too numerous to count,
Should they be counted, dubious to what end.
There are ramparts too daunting to surmount;
Like riddles too muddled to comprehend,
Or broken rules too jaded to amend:
They darkle and sparkle like kerfuffle
That hurtle trouble for the gullible!
(3)
Beneath the veil of never questioned faith
You feel secure the morn comes tomorrow;
The earth’s rotation importunes no wraith,
But with calculations rigor-thorough,
Day follows night in mirth or in sorrow:
Ergo, I part with franchised pleasantry --
With a song in my heart, have a nice day!

Nostalgic Remembrance

[Repeat Refrain]  (2) Sugyot sa kahidlaw nga dalikyaton Kanhing gitagbo-an tang dalan Dili mahimong mausab langkaton Ligdong pasalig tang gi-usikan. CCXCIV ~> Deceptive Certainties* (1) When people ask, “what can I do for you?” You might ask back, “what is in it for me?” Neither is virtue poignant to pursue Nor non-pursuant destined to be free, Designed from protocols of gallantry: ’Tis futile to keep the moral high ground, Where emulators never near there found! (2) “Charity begins at home,” you are told; Meaning, you practice decency at home; Scheming no handouts for your own household, Thinking of others wherever you roam, Ensure your soul not be consumed by gloom: Most things you gain from trying not to cry Bring much less pain ere all the tears run dry! (3) Each time you stumble, get up with a shrug; Calibrate your bearings, and journey on. Neither dismiss a consolation hug Nor yet obsess with the hidden weapon That might cast you off into oblivion: Deceptive certainties reverberate With innate penchant to eviscerate! ==<>==<|>==<>== *Hook image ( Nymphs...
